CalmJax will not be a good aggro deck (compared to lucian) or a good top tier midrange(compared to yi) but it is exceptionally good at keeping its own units alive and have good engine cards. With counterstrike it can be almost impervious to backline removals and establish good backline equipment based engines using Jax legend, jax unrelenting and aphelios. Lucian for wrapping up the game.
