Deck that won Summoner Skirmish on 11/29/25 Matchups: R1 Teemo 2-1 R2 Lux 0-2 R3 Garen 2-0 R4 Volibear 2-0 R5 Jinx 2-1 4-1 going into top 8 cut, get 3rd seed. Top 8 Teemo 2-0 Top 4 Annie 2-0 Top 2 Lux (same lux as R2) 2-0 Overall, deck ran great and I think I made a lot of really solid sideboard choices that helped me win games. Notes: Battlefields: I usually wanted to start with The Dreaming Tree in every matchup. That was because I wanted to out the stupefy and/or the cleaves in games 2 and 3. I would open Zaun Warrens into Teemo, Jinx, and Annie because I figured they would want to open with it as well, and they use it quite a bit better than Kai'Sa does. This allowed me to not have them have that opportunity to take advantage of it in multiple games. The Dreaming Tree was great obviously and I think it was pretty important as the opening battlefield. I think in every match, I was able to take advantage of it better than my opponents, maybe with the exception of the purple decks that had Ride the Wind or Gust. Reavers Row was my battlefield of choice for when I was going first in games 2 or 3. I didn't want to give my opponent the chance to take advantage of the protection it offers before I could. I think that was a pretty important decision. Other notes. The only real "free" match was the round 3 Garen at 1-1. Every other match, there was someone with some level of experience and some kind of thought out deck sitting across from me. I lost in round 2 to a player on Lux that had a great sense of the game and honestly their deck was awesome. I had not played against Lux at all up to this point in my time playing Riftbound and it showed I think. I definitely wasn't sure how to board for it and so I ended up just bringing in a Singularity and cutting a Stupefy. Lost two games that were close in score, but admittedly felt quite far off as both times I made desperation plays to try and close the game out while my opponent was sitting on a hand full of 5+ cards and very obviously had the answer. In the finals, the script flipped however and I was able to pressure my opponent very early in both our two games. This time, I chose to side out both Stupefy, bring in the Singularity and bring in the Mega Mech as it and watcher were my only creatures that could eat both ends of a Singularity and that felt valuable based on how the previous match went. Mega Mech ended up helping me to score the final points in game 2 which felt very rewarding. Of course, at the end of the day this is just another Kai'Sa list that did well at an event slightly larger and more competitive than a Nexus Night, but I easily had the most fun playing a card game that I have had in quite some time and can't wait to continue to improve with this game.
